Job Site incident – Laveen, AZ – June 21st 2019
On 6/21/19 at 10:40 AM, while walking a job site located in the Phoenix metro area of Laveen, AZ, EyeSite Surveillance field technicians and a client site supervisor encountered a burglary in progress occurring inside of a residence under construction. Both technicians advised reported that when they arrived at the job site they noticed that the gate was unsecured and the padlock was missing.
Within seconds, a loud commotion was heard inside the closed garage of the residence. Immediately, they noticed that someone was attempting to manually raise the garage door. After failing in their attempts, the suspects exited the home by driving in reverse in a black Chevrolet Tahoe and plowing through the garage door. Once outside the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a large boulder in the front yard.
At this point, three (3) males and one (1) female exited the suspect vehicle and attempted to flee the location. During this time the EyeSite technicians and the site superintendent attempted to flee the site as well fearing the suspects may have weapons. The technicians were eventually able to enter one of the EyeSite company trucks. In the meantime, one of the suspects entered a second EyeSite company truck which had a trailer in tow and attempted to leave. The driver of the truck then collided with the fence while attempting to flee. He then exited truck and left on foot.
The Phoenix Police Department and Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department were both dispatched to the scene. The police were able to detain one of the suspects and the Tahoe was also impounded at the site. No one involved in the incident was injured.
